At the A Caeira Veterinary Centre, we deeply believe in a way of practising veterinary medicine that combines science, humanity and genuine dedication to every patient. We are a close-knit team that knows its patients by name and builds relationships based on trust, clear communication and continuous support.
Since our opening in 2005, we have grown step by step, always with the same purpose: to offer rigorous, honest and warm veterinary care to families in Poio, A Caeira and Pontevedra.
Our story: from a small project to a leading clinic for many families
The story of this clinic began long before it opened its doors. It started with the vocation of Ofir Quindos, who spent years training in leading veterinary hospitals, including a period at the Delicias Veterinary Hospital (Madrid), to gain the experience and clinical precision that now define our centre.
After that period of intensive training — and with all the personal effort involved in starting from scratch — Ofir and Francisco Barreiro, a business graduate, decided to create their own project that reflected their values and vision of veterinary medicine.
In 2004 the company was formally established and, after months of preparation, the clinic opened its doors at the beginning of 2005. There were only three people: Ofir, a veterinary nurse, and Francisco, who literally did everything: reception, grooming, management, technical support… as he himself often says, a true one-man band.
Today, the team has grown, as has our ability to handle more complex cases with greater depth. But we still maintain that family-like and close spirit that has defined us from day one.

We have a spacious facility (more than 240 m²) with two separate consultation rooms, one for dogs and one for cats, which helps to reduce stress and improve the experience. We also have:

All of this in a quiet setting in A Caeira (Poio), just a few minutes from Pontevedra.
Our approach: clear, approachable and responsible healthcare
If anything defines our centre, it is the importance we place on communication. Explaining a diagnosis well is just as important as making it. That is why we dedicate time to each consultation, answer questions and maintain close contact throughout treatments.

Partnerships and community engagement
We believe that a veterinary clinic should also be an active part of its community. That is why we have been collaborating for years with the association Amigos da Canceira de Poio (Fogarcan) and taking part in the sterilisation campaigns run by the Municipality of Poio (CES programme). We also provide veterinary services to the municipal dog pound.
These actions are part of our understanding of social responsibility: caring for those who have no voice and supporting initiatives that improve the lives of animals.
